Should I or shouldn't I?

Hey Folks,

I'm in a dilly of a pickle. I own a 2005 MM Stingray 5-string with a maple fretboard, tort pickguard, and a natural colored body. I want something a little more low-end, because this bass is just a bit too bright for my taste. Don't get me wrong--it sounds great and it's a great bass. What do you all think? Should I sell it and buy a Stingray with a rosewood fretboard, or should I sell it and buy a completely different brand and model bass? I value your opinions and/or past experiences in similiar situations.

The rosewood board will not really make much difference. If you like the Stingray sound, get a SR5 HH. That will give you a strip club worth of booty!

I think the tort pickguard may be your problem!
EQ? 1x18 black widow under that TNT?
Nickel instead of SS strings?
