Should I swap the necks?

I currently have 2 '08 American Standard P basses, one is candy cola with a rw board, and the other is sunburst/maple. I'm tempted to swap the necks on them, think I should?

I would usually say no, but I can see that in this case, the result would be really cool. And it's not like you can't undo it if you don't like it.

Definitely swap, The Rosewood was born for sunburst and the maple was born for the red bass.

I vote no. I love sunburst with maple board, it's less common than rw and very cool. The candy cola will look great either way. Nice basses!

If neither bass has serious dead spots then I vote: leave them be.

If one (or both) has a dead spot or two, then swapping their necks may help.

Tone is the color which really counts...

I see no problem with either bass they way they are. However, if you want to change things around, why not? Go for it if it is what you want to do.

Aesthetics make a big difference to some folks and if it makes you more content with your basses, what is to stop you?
