Should I trade a squire p for Epiphone eb 3

Another very minor point for me is the needless amount of ugly knobs and switches on an otherwise classy looking instrument. The increments are even numbered, with all the numbers, and I don’t think any of the settings change much.
Still, since I already have other more useful bass guitars, I wouldn’t be unhappy having an EB3 for variety, they’re relatively affordable.

Yeah, I could definitely do without the dive. But slap some ultralight tuners on, a heavier bridge, and a good wide strap and it's completely manageable
Not sure that will be enough for an EB-3 (the ones I've tried), but I can confirm it can do the trick for an EB-0 with its shorter scale. I replaced the tuners on mine with Hipshot Ultralites, and I chose the ones with the mini-clover tuners so that they're even lighter. No neck dive at all.
I don't like relying on a grippy strap because it invariably pulls my shirt and makes me look like I had a fight with the bass, and lost, after a few minutes.
For everyone bashing the EB-03, I'll just leave this here.
I know she plays a Gibson and not an Epiphone but the tone is around the same ballpark.

Awesome videos and I'm pro get what you want on this thread, HOWEVER, that's a Greco bass 1975, and I personally think Japanese copies sometimes even improve the actual bass like ESP vipers (SG copies and shapes with a slight curve.) I'm sure though for that time it's pretty much identical though to the Gibson since it's a copy. Don't know much on them so please let me know any wrong info!
I gigged an EB for a few months. Nightmarish in rehearsals. Intonation sucked and tone was mud city with a side of nasty clank. Never got it to sound good. Pickup adjustments, different strings, different amps, different cabs, even a 10 band EQ pedal out front.
My experience aside. P Bass is a sure thing. EB is a for fun bass. Up to you to decide if you want to trade one for the other.

What about "Alright Now" by Free? Lots of 70s stuff had the EB-3 on, even given the prevalence of Fenders. And despite my joke, some of the tones are audible.
That tone is an acquired taste which I have not acquired.
Exactly! It's a matter of taste and it won't work in every scenario. The P-bass is much more usable and adaptable to diferent styles of music.

Passing the strap through my pants belt fixes the dive but gives wedgies and at my age that’s not on anymore. Does nothing about the forward tilt, lower fret access, and the dysfunctional bridge that falls to pieces like a puzzle if you’re not careful when changing strings. I like the looks and tone though.
