Should I use an extension cabinet?

I have an Ampeg BA210v2 and pair it with a Portaflex 2x10 cab. It's nice to get the full 450w out of the amp, but I do find that the tone gets a bit of mud with it (without the extension cab mine is 250w). To remedy this I use a 10 band EQ pedal and do a full cut on 30hz and about 50% on the 60hz. Cleans it up nicely. I've considered a 1x15, moves a bit of air as well. Just happened to get a deal on the Portaflex 2x10.

Good luck...

OK, if the cabinet is 8 ohms and 2x10 then I'll plug in. Otherwise, unless it's a 1x15, I'll forget it.

Thanks all, you are very helpful!

I don't really know if the bass will go through the FOH. I'm thinking the bass amp serves the room and then bass comes through the monitors. But I'll find out tomorrow.
I would still plugin even if the extension cabinet is not a 2x10. As long it is 8 ohms. It won't hurt at this point, as long as it doesn't sound bad.
