Shout out to Fender customer service

We hear lots of horror stories, but here’s the opposite. I recently had the G string of a brand new set of 9050M flats break while I was installing them, and fender is sending me a new set. Took two emails. Nice work!

I didn't know they'd respond like that. Never thought to contact them after that happened with me in July, with a package of 7250Ms where the G string unwound at the ball end almost immediately when the repair tech was doing a setup on my new Yamaha bass. (He subbed in a D'Addario.)

Maybe I should email Fender customer service about it....

My only experience with Fender Customer service was when I bought a 2017 Noir MIM Precision bass, the neck warped and I took it to an authorized Fender service center who said the neck wasn't fixable. It was about a year after I bought it, and Fender wouldn't fix the bass or replace the neck, and refused to exchange the bass for a different model either as the Noirs had sold out and they had increased prices. They refunded my original purchase price with a check that took over 3 months to receive. I wasn't too thrilled at all.

I had a few packs of strings that had corrosion in different areas.
I bought a bundle of packages online and was storing them in my closet.
The bundle of string packages were definitely over a year old before I even opened the first package and were for my fender Stratocaster.
It was mostly on the B and E strings.
They responded immediately.
They sent me brand new packages without question.

That's pretty much the standard response from any decent string company. I've had issues with LaBellas, String Joys, and D'addario, and all of them were quick (and apologetic) with sending replacements. The companies I really like to buy strings from are those where I haven't had any issues. You don't get an A for quickly fixing a problem that you created, you get an A for selling stuff that always works.
