Boy! That looks just like one I use to have!! Even the padio looks the same! :smug:

Mighty fine stable you got there HMZ!! :hyper:

Looks like you have a Gotoh bridge on your black cherry. Do you notice any tonal differences as a result?

Both the black cherry and butterscotch basses are especially lovely, BTW!

Thanks... The "black cherry" is really a Mexican midnight wine jazz.
You are correct on the Gotoh bridge. I didn't like the original one so I replaced it. As far as tonal difference I really didn't notice a big difference. I like the Gotoh because its built better and the saddles stays in place. The butterscotch one is American. I replaced the stock pickups with Seymour Duncan hot stacked pickups.
The black one is a fretless Mexican with a tort pickguard and DiMarzio model J pickups.

This is the bass I learned to play on and I still have it and use it to this day!! My 74 Jazz with Basslines Quarter-pound J pups...still sounds close to the original but just a bit louder than the original pups.Still passive and is still best sounding bass I own!!!

Peace,

Jackie Clark

Here are my Jazzes:

75 lake placid blue Jazz, mint pickguard, BadAss, Delano big magnet split-buckers, strung with .045 DR HiBeams.

02 black Deluxe Jazz V ,black pickguard, stock, strung with .040 Fender Super Bass Xtra lights. This .115 B-string sounds great!! Believe me a tight B doesn´t have to be a .130 rope.

62 candy apple red Jazz, tort pickguard, stock, strung with unknown awsome mojoed flats (don´t remember the brand, have purple silk?)

I still need a burgundy mist or olympic white alder rosewood, preferablywith matching headstock , which I would string with rounds to have all the nuances of Jazz sounds covered.
