My '92 MIA Jazz Plus V in Black with Lace-Sensor pickups and Kubicki preamp. While currently for sale, there's no way I would have made my way to where I am now, which is where I'm completely comfortable knowing what I like and what works for me in terms of construction (bolt-on basses), types of woods, hardware, pickups and electronics, and ergonomics and string-spacing. I owe her more than I could ever say in terms of teaching me about what type of bassist I wanted to be on a physical and technical level:

And my '02 MIM Standard Jazz in Midnight Wine, outfitted with Bassline SJB-2 hots, Gotoh 201 bridge, and white pearloid pickguard. A wonderful passive bass for recording purposes, and for a steal of a price to boot. Pretty much everything, from bass to aftermarket parts I scored on:

...although I'd probably give them both up plus cash (and the Significant Other - she'll have to deal - a possible firstborn, and pretty much any act you can think of  :smug: ) for a American Deluxe Jazz four-string in Candy Tangerine with maple neck and preferably the Samarium Cobalt pickups/18V preamp, although I suppose I could learn to live with Noiseless pups/9V pre combo: :rollno: ;)

For some reason [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] combination of Orange, Red, and Gold has been screaming my name for the last six month. I've got eBay notification set up to e-mail me as soon as one is listed, and I keep my eyes open here as well. :hyper: In fact, should the impossible happen and I get a huge gig that requires truly gaudy finishes with an endorsement, I'd simply show Mike Lull Warmoth's "Candy" paint webpage and say "Okay, one M4 in Candy Tangerine, one M5 in Candy Red, and one M5 fretless in Candy Turquoise, please. Oh, and matching headstocks as well." :D

Here's my two skinny Js:

Both 72's, both with Badass II bridges, and both obviously not right handed. The one on the left was my first "real" bass, and I bought it in 1983 from Mannys in NYC. The second one on the right was purchased about 3 years ago, so it only took 20 years to find another one. They're nearly identical even in wear except the "newer" one on the right (which is actually older than the other one in serial # by a couple of months) has a more pronounced sunburst with a less smooth blend of colors.
