Ashdown ABM Evo III 500, Has anyone had experience with this particular Amplifier?

I have the Evo II and also feel like the preamp section like to see a hot signal coming in, or the output volume is weak. But after reading the repair report I'm starting to wonder if mine isn't just faulty like OP's… one thing is sure the VU meter needle only wants to move from its resting spot when I hit stupid hard on the lowest note.
