I am seriously thinking about selling my Fender P as I have just become so accustomed to the smaller necks on my Sadowsky NYC and Metro Will Lee. However, I am thinking about replacing it with a parts built P or maybe a Lakland with the jazz neck on a P body. Have to admit, orange with matching headstock is running at #2 right now! Sonic Blue is still in the lead though.
Why not just get a Warmoth Jazz neck to put on your Fender P? Then you can decide on neck grain, fingerboard wood and radius, profile, and all that good stuff. I means you keep the P-bass you're so familiar with while turning it into a custom bass for you; yet it's reversible to original condition when you sell.

You know on one hand I'd like to b/c I added the J pickup to it. However, (and I know this is goofy), but I just have too many black basses now! I need some more colors in the stable!

What are you using for knobs? I can't quite tell what they are exactly, except cool looking.
