I had an Epiphone AccuBass Jr. that stayed stock. It sounded great with the original pickup; just sold it to finance a short-scale.
My $125 Squier J5. Stock and plays great.
I couldn't stand the white pickguard, so put a $14 dollar reverb-special tort on it.

$50 pawnshop Squier Affinity P, .045-.100 D’Addario chrome flats. Sounds good, stays in tune!
SBMM cheapo. Standard apart from strings and pickguard.
I have a Robin Ranger Bass VI that I bought for around $500 back in ‘00. Not the finest made instrument, but the variety of tones it can make with 3 single coils is incredible. Fun instrument to play and write on.

I have a Squier Contemporary Active Jazz Bass Five and a Precision Bass Five, box stock. I have no plans to mod anything on either as they need nothing, perfectly gig ready (if I still did that sort of thing . . . . ). Solid, stay in tune, hold a setup, electronics fine. Great axes for the money, less than a grand USD for the two.

Haven't got a photo handy but I used to gig a £250 Squier VM Mustang, stock (even with factory strings). My bandmates liked it a lot!
I acquired a Korean Fenix PJ just a few weeks ago. Just over £120 but in a sorry state but turned out to be something very nice. NBD thread with pics here:

$60.00 no name nothing P bass that’s one of the best playing/sounding precisions I’ve got, or will ever have. Only thing I’ve had to do is swap the jack.

Late 80's Aria Pro II. Bought new for <£300, played it as my main bass since then. And still gigging with it! Replacement jack socket when the old one failed a couple of years ago, that's it (apart from strings, of course):

I have a Harley Benton JB40FL I paid £145 for, brand new in 2017, with every intention of upgrading the hardware and pickups. I was surprised and delighted to find it completely unnecessary! 
I did add a bridge cover for a foam mute, but that's gone now. Other than that and strings - completely stock. One of the two that come on every gig ever since.
