I suspect it's more a matter of our questionable taste than of inability to perceive colors properly.
The one on the left is my Dillion SCPB copy. It has since been re-routed for dual humbuckers and repainted. Looks like this now:

I have an early one in Black Sparkle, so I’m familiar with it and especially like the 32” scale.
The 2013 version actually has bass pups rather than the guitar pups in the earlier versions in the aughts.
I play seated so for me it’s comfortable. I think I’m gonna put some tapes on it.
I have one in the seafoam green / teal, love both. Both are earlier ones, have been meaning to look into replacement pickups.... not that I'm unhappy with their sounds as is, but "more beef" would be nice....
That's another option to investigate. I was just writing Curtis Novak to ask about whether the EB-BSX (Bisonic / Darkstar in EB format) could be squeezed into the slightly narrower humbucker format.
In 2013 they brought back only the Cabbie and put in real bass pups.
The original run from 2004 to 2008 (or something like that as I don’t have my catalog info handy) suffered from low output from having actual guitar pups.
I have not yet done an actual side by side comparison or utilized any magnetic film to ‘see’ if there are different poles inside the pups (6 vs 4) or removed the pups to see any physical differences without tearing them apart.
I loved the playability and styling and acoustic sound, but yeah, always felt the plugged-in sound weak, especially in the bass range.
I think I recall someone here doing that, but it involved quite a bit of body modification which I’d never do. Maybe to my Black Sparkle version though. Hmmm? I’m going to have to ask the Luthier nearby if he’d want to tackle something like that. They’re the bigger pups with poles in a Guild, correct?Can you imagine one of these with a matched set of Novak BiSonic / DarkStars? I mean, man, that should bring da thickness fer shur!!
Yeah, exactly, but the EB-BSx is fit into the much smaller footprint of the Gibson EB ("Mudbucker") pickup:
From there, it's just a smidgen narrower to find into the standard Humbucker format:
(From 54.2 mm would have to squeeze down to 40mm, I'm thinking he'll say no, but we'll see.)
