Show Me Your Yellow Bass!

Here's my only yellow bass - a modded Jay Turser JTB-401 in original "Pool Ball Yellow".

Did you add the bridge pickup? Neat! I've always wondered how that would sound (2 original single coils).

Yes, I routed the cavity for the bridge pickup and moved the original Jay Turser pickup to the bridge position - the Jay Turser pickup is a lot more lively with more treble than your standard P-bass single coil. I put a vintage P-bass single coil in the original position. The three pots are push-pull, with switching for series-parallel, a RIC-style capacitor on the bridge pickup, and phasing. It's very versatile, with tones that range from an old school thumper to a jazz bass to a RIC, and then some. The out-of-phase on its own isn't very useable, but it works well when combined with the RIC capacitor - solid bottom end with a funky hollow top.

The seller had it listed as orange and I know it's not that, but hard to find out what Italia called it...rare finish, only saw one like it before.

Some say that this is darkened and aged olympic white - not sure about the definition, definitely aged though, it's a mid 80s Fender MIJ medium scale PJM65.

That's another option to investigate. I was just writing Curtis Novak to ask about whether the EB-BSX (Bisonic / Darkstar in EB format) could be squeezed into the slightly narrower humbucker format.

Curtis responded promptly:

No sorry it is not possible, but what would be RAD is I make the
Thunderbird in a standard humbucker form.
