Show off your rig!

I’ve been ‘cycling thru’ Markbass gear - since 2009 ;)

My rig, complete as of last night. Sent the head to Mesa to have all of the cooling updates done.

It sounds kinda awesome.

In the Rack (top to bottom)

- Roland XV-3080
- dbx 160A
- Aphex 204
- Peavey Midibase splitter
- Mesa Titan

So which do you prefer- Fusion or Legacy?
(Like asking a parent their favorite child)

REALLY like em both.

Each one brings alittle something different to the stage, but if I had to pick, my ears prefer the Fusion 800.

For the band and type of material we play I go for a clean, low endish sound with clarity.
The SansAmp is set as clean as I can figure out how to set it as is the Fusion.

The Fusion 800 has that G.K. slam, power behind the notes, clean clarity, with the feeling of a fast transient like all G.K.'s have, but it also adds a roundness to the highs, high mids like only tubes can add.
It's my all time favorite gigging amp.

The Legacy 800 also has the slam, power, clean clarity, ect.
I really like how it's overdrive section can be used as a clean highs boost, or for the G.K. grunt, or switched totally out/off.
It's a "cut through the mix" sounding amp.
It's also the easiest to dial in amp I've ever worked with.
I carry the Legacy as my, so far not needed, backup head.

The MB2-500 and the MB500 heads I picked up several years back and were used as backup heads for the two Mesa M-6 Carbines I gigged with before I stumbled into the Fusion 800.
(The 500's saved the day more than several times as the M-6's had alot of miles on them and were problematic.)

Just bought this Wayne Jones 2X10 Powered Cab from a fellow TBer.
At half the weight, half the size (a one-handed schlep with the tiltback casters), and twice the power (1000W!) of my big rig for decades; I see this as the quintessential mini rig of doom and am very happy with it.

I had one on each side of the drummer...nice cabinets!

I don't think I posted this rig on this thread, plus I made a couple mods.

I just added the Furman plug box to the empty space in that rack. It was in a big rack rig I decided to retire, so I figured it'd put it somewhere. There's a Korg rack tuner in there, as well, but this head has a tuner so I'm putting that elsewhere.

The KRUNCH 4x12 had the tilt/roll function that just doesn't work for me, so I took those wheels off which would just rattle, and put casters in all four corners so I can just roll it.

I had to put a 2x4 notched-out for those brackets (a but crude but oh well, it's not like a vintage/classic piece) across the back, and used larger casters for the front and smaller for the back so it sits level (or plumb as the case may be, lol).

I also added handles for an easy/secure lift. They look low, but by grabbing the straps (already there) with one hand and lifting the new handles with the other hand, when standing straight up it's at step height. :)
