Can't speak for the owner....but recall he was seeking a dark tone and a bright one. I'd go for a bit more difference. Not sure you would hear much difference except in a solo environment.

I thought the piezos were different as well.
The owner seems to think there's a good enough tonal difference, but then again, it's just bad-ass to whip out a double neck!
Beautiful basses. That double-neck is something...wow. Here's my latest (our man, nostatic, can speak to the one which preceded it).
#972, mahog/maple, maple neck, cocobolo board & bridge.
GREAT bass. Much more of an upright vibe live than in a studio setting, but it covers that ground well enough to discourage any interest in going down that road again.

Great shots! I love Rob's work.
The wide fingerboard with the long thumb rest extension really bring a nice balanced look to your bass. Although the Deep models really speak to me, visually, your MB may have the nicest lines of any Rob Allen I've seen.

These two are keepers. I love to play them both and they inspire me regularly. I'm trying hard not to pick up another one as I don't know what gap I'd be filling - they do way more than people think.
