Yes, forearm and rear scoop as marked. The edges aren't comfortable to my 69-year old body anymore and the contours will take off some weight. It's 9 1/2lbs now. It was probably closer to 10lbs when I got it. I may even change the bridge to increase sustain. The pickup may be on the chopping block, too. It's original, but rewound. I asked Dolan to measure the outputs and report back. I'll report back when we decide on the full scope of the job.

I appreciate any additional thoughts.

I got a new Precision a few months ago and that convinced me as to what I want to do with the Telecaster. It's a player as it is, not a collector's piece, anyway. Too many bits have been replaced to be considered original.

I've always thought those Mustangs were cool looking.
Would love to own one, but finding a lefty model would both be challenging, and spendy.

I believe @jmjbassplayer pushed for a lefty model of his signature Mustang, but that has yet to come into fruition.

I've had this Telecaster since 1971. It's naturally distressed from normal wear and tear.

It's going to Michael Dolan this week for a refurb including a fret job and contouring like @2saddleslab Dan's 51 Precision. Hence the Sharpie marks on the body. Dolan and I discussed a lot more but the next conversation will be after he receives it. No refinishing of the original nitro.

It'll be a funky looking player when it's done.

I posted the back story elsewhere. It's a '68 I bought used and abused. I originally bought a new 1968 Telecaster from Manny's Music on 48th St. in Manhattan. Three years later my lovely SO at the time made me sell it for the rent one month. Six months after that I bought this one.

And left-handed lollipops - not very common these are. Also, it has the early '66 hodgepodge decals with large block-lettered BASS.

MJT checking discussion gives me an excuse to post some pics. This is my MJT 'closet clean' Dakota red body that I checked myself. Waited for a really hot day and dropped it in a chest freezer for about ten minutes, then immediately gave it about five minutes in full sun. And sat terrified for a few minutes while I watched and wondered when it would stop
