It appears that late '60s Fenders are doubling in price from a few years ago. Investors prices - no real player could afford one.

It seems like most Fenders are doubling in price over the last couple years.

I've had an eye on FB Marketplace, Reverb, and eBay for a beat up, crappy old P-Bass I can learn on in terms of fixing up/painting. I see people trying to sell Affinity Ps for $300. Meanwhile, when I was a teenager, everyone had an Affinity sitting in their basement somewhere and you'd be lucky to get $40 for it.

Guess we should be buying the Sonic Series.

Beats me - I haven't a clue how something like that happened or why.

Sadness, that one could use some help.

That was the state of my Jazz Bass Special when I got it. The bridge - apparently someone didn't realize the springs go on the other side. It only needed one screw replaced, a lot of cleaning, and (correct) reassembly.
It's a really nice bass, with a well worn poly finish. I'll post more pics later.

I feel like I've posted this before and if so it's an old listing (on Reverb) but still for sale - 1960 Fenton-Weill lefty - Burns of London roots. It appears the larger Van Ghent bass tuners were replaced by Weill guitar tuners somewhere along the line.
