Actually that wood from California is Myrtle. Here's a couple of pics:

Flamed maple top, alder body wings, alder tone block, rosewood fingerboard, 5 piece maple/mahogany neck.:

The quilted maple neck (w/purpleheart stripes) is gorgeous!
