Patti loves laying in the sun, during walks as well as on the occasions when she's tied up in the front yard--we often bring out her "blanket" (which she gets too excited about to let us lay it completely flat) where she can work on a stuffed Kong toy. But with the crazy high temps of the past month, we have to keep an especially close eye on her. As soon as she starts to pant (as she's doing in the second shot), it's time to close up shop and bring her in.

Vacation time here in the seaside resort I live it. Tons of traffic. 5x the number of peeps that live here full-time. Saw this out-of-town camper van yesterday while walking my 3 dogs. It was a cooler day, and the van was parked in the shade. I hope they weren't still there with closed windows when the sun shifted a bit and the van was is full sun.

Hood River is the NW breeding ground for Sprinter vans and their cousins the Ford transits. They range from crafty DIY built stealth campers to full on RV’s with all the bells and whistles. Including battery AC and ventilation.

When I was in the junior high band, I wanted to play trumpet like Miles Davis, but my mom said it was too loud and she didn't want to hear me practice. So, clarinet. The next year? She let my younger brother take up the trombone and bugle. Sheesh. Thanks a lot, mom.
