He was found in very bad shape in a neighbor's chicken coop. Lost his tail and a bunch of skin off his back. Probably wasn't tracking three more coyotes in that condition.
Guardian (technically not herding) dogs like Casper are supposed to stay with their flocks as a deterrent, not burst through the fence and rampage through the woods slaughtering local predators. So while his victory over the coyotes is undeniably impressive, he was actually being kind of bad.
I hope this story doesn't make a bunch of people decide they should get a Great Pyrenees. They are NOT for everyone.
