Well....!!!My fella "Duffy" is the same as Ralph...same age (will be 15 on July 5th)...has arthritis...hearing and vision limited...but ABSOLUTELY no issues with his appetite... or nose...for sniffing out treats.
Here he is in his younger days.
Little did I realise that so soon after posting the above picture and message, that my next post would be one of informing you that Duffy went to the rainbow bridge today.
He was off his food for the last few days and had severe diarrhoea. Would not even drink today. My wife and I thought it might just be a bug, but today he was in such a bad way that we took him to the vet. A blood sample was taken, which showed that his liver and kidneys were failing and would continue to do so, no matter what we did. We were not entirely surprised as recent blood tests showed that his liver enzymes were very high. It was still an unexpected shock though.
Anyway, rather than have him suffer on indefinitely and delay the inevitable, we decided it was time to let him go.
