Rays with white pickups seem to be pretty rare, which is a shame, because I love them! Why do bass pickups have to be black pretty much all the time anyway?

I had a blue SR5 that had a white pickup for a while. I think all SR5's that have there original white pickguards have white pickups. I know travis's blue dawn has a black pickup but his bass also had a black pickguard when he got it. I know if you build an instrument on the MM website. The SR 5's will show white pickups with white pickguards.

Thanks todd!! I got this bass about a month ago. Its got one of the heaviest birds eye patterns ive ever seen on the neck and that pic dont do it justice. It almost looks like an aged off white and the grain of the wood comes through just enough to be seen. I love it!!

Did not want to make another thread about the Stingray aesthetics. Just wondering if any stingray 4's come with a white pickup and if so which color combinations?

Nope. Black pickups only. Not sure if there are any aftermarket white pickups either.

I hear ya Mike I played a MIA J in trans Sunset orange a few weeks back and it was purdy sweet looking, My wife didn't like it but I did....

I was under the impression that the color was called Burgandy Mist. But maybe that is just the Hot Rod/Fender name for that color. Upon further research, it is indeed Lavender Pearl. EB must have made like a dozen in that color, its very hard even to find a picture of one in that color.

I am really digging sound , and I know it will be more to my liking once I get rid of the Slinky's. I got this one used, so for under a grand its a great buy. I like it much better than the new Corvettes that every GC has. Before this I had played a 4str fretless stingray and sterling that both had piezo. They really added some "organicness" to the tone. Unfortunately mine doesn't have that, but the feel is top notch and I don't feel like I am missing that much.

As much as I am digging this though, if I was going to buy a new 5 string fretless with piezo, I would probably go with a Bongo. Just too many tone options for the fretless not to make it a Bongo. If one ever ends up used, my bank account will be hurting.
