I've been working this project for a while. It's a kind of knock off tribute/signature bass. 70s style Fender neck, secondhand Warmoth body of unknown material (seller said likely swamp ash), badass bridge, Duncan QPs, and a greasy groove pickguard

I finally finished my Player Jazz. Replaced with Black hardware, new V/B/T circuit, which i find easier to adjust, and a real noticeable improvement in sound. I got the Bridge thru Amazon, just wanted a Steel one. P/Up's are stock, i think they sound good. Hipshot HB7 Tuners, much better tuning, smoother and better gear ratio.
The Tech in our town is very good, never disapointed in his work. He put it together for me. No dead spots yet. Perfect job!
Anyway, the only original bits left are the body and neck, Alder/Maple.
Do the MIA and MIM factories use CNC machines? Probably the same type.
Not only do i have what i would have ordered custom from Fender, it was a whole lot cheaper. I think i did well Before and after photos.View attachment 5231268 View attachment 5231270 View attachment 5231271
I forgot. I had this Neck plate put on too. Iconplates.com

I have been quite smitten with the Fender Japan stuff this year, and just added the Aerodyne Special Precision. I know it's not actually part of the same "model line" as the Aerodynes, but the Elemental has the same contoured body as the Aerodynes. I just love the vibe of all the "non-traditional Fender" stuff coming out of Japan right now. Great twist/evolution on 60-70 year-old designs.

Last night I decided I'm going to add another bass uke to my collection, a white one that will be painted by Pat Wilkins and have Eric's Guitar add the fully adjustable piezo bridge, on/off slide switch, pickguard, flatwound strings, Hofner style tailpiece and Gotoh tuners.
