My mid 80's Fender Jazz Fretless....

Love the look of that. Is that a MIJ? What's the deal with those anyway? I've seen several, and they always seem to have the pickguard removed. It really looks cool that way, though! I just bought a '94 that looks just like this, but the fingerboard on mine doesn't look like a factory unlined fretless. I think it was either originally a fretted or lined board that was tweaked and coated. Sadly, I don't really think it's for me and I am currently selling it locally.
