Understood. But still, the first time I went into Chicago Music Exchange, I REALLY had to put that approach into practice. The bass that I paid the least amount of money for (2005 Fender AmDlxP5...$850 for the bass, $270 for the Sadowsky pre, $70 for the pickguard) was in the trunk of my car. I played a bunch of Sandbergs and a Mayones and was actively trying to decide which one would snatch a credit card out of my pocket. Then I started to go out to my car to bring the Fender in for their assessment. Then realized I would get more if I sold it outright. Then decided I liked it too much to sell. Then instead of opening the trunk, I opened the door and took my happy ass back to Detroit. That approach has worked with every GAS attack since then. I mean, I literally held temptation in my hands and was able to walk away.
