Shuttlemax 12.0 tricks

I don't know if this deserves it own thread but, here goes. I recently purchased a 12 and love it. I was hoping to use the tube channel for od but, it's not really the sound I was looking for. So, I decided to run my VT bass pedal in the tube channel effects loop so that it could be blended and eq'd with the fet channel. Think billy sheehan. With the input gain switches out or in low position, and with the gain on either channel at noon, you will be sending the same signal level that your bass is putting out straight into whatever is in the fx loop. That way, you know that you are not overdriving your fx pedal or underdriving it. I think that you would essentially be running into a buffer before your fx pedal which, probably is a good thing.

Also, I found a pretty good sound with the vt pedal in the tube channel loop, blended with the fet channel. When I turned the pedal off, I found that I really liked the clean tube sound that I had dialed in, mixed with the fet as well.

Yeah. That's an oldie but goodie.
Blending the two channels gives you the best of both worlds.
I did have phase issues with the shuttlemax and it's effects loop though. If only one channel was going thru a single pedal and both channels were blent, the bottom would drop out, leaving me with lower volume and less bass.
my temporary solution is to send the second loop thru a pedal as well. Just keep the effect minimal.
This works to get the phase back in line but could probably be done more elegantly.
I wonder If there is a tiny inline phase inverter.

I haven't tried this yet with my 9.2, but probably will at some point. Any phase issues will be different (or non-existent) depending on the effect(s) used, it is not an issue with the amp itself. Some effects completely reverse phase, and some only do it in a frequency dependant way. Different amounts of compression and dynamic adjustments in some FX can also cause what sound like phase issues. It really isn't just a matter of "in phae" or "out of phase"- you just have to let your ears be the judge!

Not blaming it on the amp, but there certainly is a phase issue.
Does anyone make, or know how to make a simple device for flipping/rotating phase ?

That's cool- I just wanted to clarify that it was not the amp but some FX pedals that can reverse phase since this is a thread about the amp!
As far as dealing with the issue- I have only seen the option available as part of FX bypass/blender loop pedals (to deal with the exact same blending issue we are talking about here), acoustic instrument preamps (to cut down on feedback), or ABY boxes (to deal with using multiple amps/cabs that may have reversed phase from each other). Some pedals with the option are the Xotic X-Blender, Wounded Paw Blender (which I currently use), Radial Bigshot ABY and MIX boxes, LR Baggs Para DI, and really a handful of similar pedals. I am not sure what it requires to make one- I don't think it is simply a matter of reversing hot and cold leads unless you use a transformer to isolate the ground connections like the Radial and Blender pedals, but I am not sure on that!

I have done this with my own Shuttlemax 12.0 and VT Bass pedal.
I use the FET channel for this.
I have the VT Bass set on my favourite Ampeg type setting and actually mounted permanently in the back of my amp's case. Really set-and-forget!
I plug my Zoom MS60-B into the front input of the amp and tweak from there.
