Side Jacks or Top Jacks?

Most enclosures except for the shorter narrower mxr and ehx nanos can still do top jacks because they clear under the PCB. That's why I like 1590B enclosures. Still small but deep enough to have top jacks. EQD an IE sure pack a lot into those small enclosures. I think if there is a will there is a way.

I like how IE try to put everything on the north side, that sort of attention to detail is very much appreciated. Side jacks wouldn't be a deal breaker, but if I found two pedals that did the same job equally well I would pick the one with top jacks.

I'd be interested to hear EQD's philosophy on this. As was pointed out already they have plenty of top jack pedals (Depths, Grand Orbiter v2, etc), but also have a fair share of pedals with side jacks (Monarch, Dispatch Master, etc).

It doesn't matter too much to me that I wouldn't buy a pedal because it has side jacks (I have a bunch), but I prefer top jacks.

My only problem with top mounted jacks is trying to fit the angled daisy chain power plug in between the 1/4 inch jacks. Ends up looking cramped and sloppy.

I used to long for a perfect, Tetris looking board where everything fit perfectly into one rectangle and was all tightly fit together but then I realized by giant oaf feet don't work well on cramped boards and started spacing things out. Actually caused me to have more of a "switch out pedals when I feel like a change" board rather than a "cram everything I own even if I never use it in a set but I wanna show it off anyways" board haha
