I will sign the petition because I support Gibson. They were singled out....other companies also use such woods and it is legal to import them. They had all the legal documentation necessary.

Tis is not political.....if it moves on to other manufacturers...watch the jobs go overseas and the prices of our guitars go up !

I admire any company that respects natural resources and realizes the bigger picture. If corporations follow the golden rule, then we wouldn't need regulations. But time after time it is always the bottom line that matters most. This petition is just part of the I-want-it-my way-now-generation. Respecting our natural resources matters in the long run. This situation shows that companies need over-sight or they will exploit everything along the way. I will proudly not buy any Gibson products in the future, unless if they make a sincere change. Regulations are all in the game. Plenty of businesses are thriving in the game right now. you just have to have a good plan to win. If you think other countries are stealing our jobs, go check out their working and living condition. If you like pollution, long hours and cheap wages, go for it. There are opennings for a variety of cheap wage jobs in the US right now, just most people believe that type of work is below them. If there was no regulations, those cheaps wages will still be cheap. Corporate Big-wigs won't pass the savings down to the grunts. Anyway... this thread will probably be closed.

i can only assume you didn't actually read what you signed to if this isn't political to you.

The DOJ appears to be enforcing the Lacey Act, a century old law passed to regulate bird feathers but amended several years ago that also makes illegal the purchase, ownership and resale of Gibson guitars. Meaning, that if you own a Gibson guitar, you may be in violation of the law.

As an American citizen I object to the heavy–handed nature of the Obama Administration and their aggressive overregulation and assault on private business and free enterprise. I stand with Gibson Guitars and those businesses that are being targeted by an overreaching Obama Administration.
