Signature bass Pictures

Now the guy says he will take $250 for it. check it out. I hope someone has seen theses before.not the best pictures but you can tell. Also if its a fake its built real good. plus there is a hole on the pack plate like a tilt adjustment. I would if you were trying to make a fake you wouldnt go to all that trouble and detail. Thanks

Never heared of it and $250 is very low money for a good bass. My advice : Don't buy it.

Well because you never heard of it dont mean I shouldnt buy it. its a great bass that was made in the 80,s. and the reason the guy wants so little for it is that he was like you and had no clue about them. Thats where some of your best deals will be found.

Why do you keep starting new threads? This should have been posted to your original Canadian Signature bass thread.
That bass is NOT from the 80's.
The neck alignment on that bass is crapola. Look how the neck is angled compared to the exposed edge of the pocket. See how the E string is almost falling off the edge of the neck? Now look at how far the G string is from the other edge. For less money you could get an SX that probably came from the same Chinese factory with added value from a set up from Rondo Music and great return policy in case you are not satisfied.

Signature basses come from an eBay seller. A never-ending supply of bodies and necks from "old stock" he "bought-up years ago".

They come from the same Chinese factory as SX/Essex. They are the same parts, right down to the pickup routs, materials, and headstock shape (previous iteration of SX).

A new SX, with blocks/binding and the old headstock, would have cost about $160-170.

Do what you think is best.

$250 isn't bad for any bass that plays alright. If it feels right in your hands and you think the value is there go for it. I've never really bought a bass cause of what brand it is. It's all about feel and craftsmanship.

Normally, I'd feel the same way. However, I can't stand to see the fraud perpetuated.

His ads used to include pics of bodies without pickguards. He wised up to that. He either orders most of his SX bodies with string ferrules, or does it himself. I just checked his store. He got himself a stamp that marks "PROTO 11/87" ... HILARIOUS !!!

There is more negative info about this guy if you search "signature bass" and sort through all the Harris, Miller, Jaco, etc., stuff.

IMHO, everything from this guy is tainted.

I had one of these, it was awesome. I got mine from a local music buddy for $300, and it was totally worth it.

The tone was outstanding, and the build was very good. I'd snatch it up!

I bought this it is the real deal. I found some pictures on google and everything points to it being the real thing. its a nice bass. Its made well and has the block inlayed and not painted on. there is a serial number inside the neck pocket. I think i got a great deal. The neck is stright as a arrow and the action is perfect. here are a few pictures of the ones i saw on the internet.Link Removed
Sx basses couldnt hold a candle to this one. And I cant find one on ebay anyplace. the guy i bought it from bought it new in the late 80's

Just plugged it in at home and OMG what a sweet bass. Its better then my 62 RI and sounds better. he neck is perfect!!! and the finish is killer. If it is a copy its the best copy I ever seen or played. for $250 let it be a copy ( But its Not) and ill play the hell out of it. I had many basses but this one is by far the best. I played bass for freddie fender,george jones,freddie Boom Boom Cannon. Chubby checker and a ton more I cant think of. Right now iam big into elvis music. I dont think a copy would have Block inlays like this or a serial number in the neck pocket or the hole in the neck plate. I would like to see the copy everyone is talking about so far I cant find one.

Was that at Uncle Bob's? I saw it there a while ago. As I remember it was tagged much higher than $250, but played pretty well. If it is the same bass, I think $250 is a pretty good deal.

Its the same one. It was priced at $800 but know one there new anything about it as do i. I figure if its a fake its a deal if its real its a deal. either way iam not going to sell it. Its my main player now.
