Silent tube amp recording

I think I might wait and see how Justin's rig is run in Sept's Bassplayer then obviously Justin can correct allk the mistakes they make when detailing his NIN rig but if that's setup amp less then that might be a good start then I can just use what ever amp I feel like and my tone will be consistent.

Too many choices

I'm going to try a few things out... there's also a palmer di with speaker simulation called the junction.. wonder if anyone knows about that?

Right now im on the side of using a jdi..

I'm running the Palmer 'Junction' PDI-09 in my rig. Only played one gig just this last weekend with it but our soundie was blown away by it. Only thing he could fault was that the bottom end was quite filtered out (what you'd expect for something trying to replicate an open backed 1x12 guitar cab) but the mids and tops were dynamic, natural and in perfect phase with my clean DI which filled in all the lows missing from the palmer.

If you wanna spend some money though the Palmer 03 and 04 are both excellent for bass. We tracked a whole album of clean DI and palmer 03 out of the back of a Mesa MKIV expecting to re-amp through my rig at a later stage but ended up liking the sound of the 03 so much that we just went with that for the finals.
