Silverburst T-Bird?

Yeah, I saw that. BUT, I am just a little weary dealing with the big box stores and their salespeople. Like I said, we'll see. At this point, I'm optimistic.

ALL the silverbursts are special editions,so therfore ALL of them WILL be chrome.i'll kiss your a** in macy's window if you get a silverburst thunderbird that has the regular plastic pups and everything the same as the old thunderbirds.i don't know why you are still convinced otherwise

I'm not convinced, I'm weary, of the big box store tactics. We'll see. I do want the chrome.

I hope you are right, being the Epiphone expert and all...

here's something interesting... close inspection of the "special run" page shows that these silverburst's with chrome are actually have mahogany bodies. considering all the others are alder, i'd say that's a pretty significant difference from the standard production runs. surprised there hasn't been more of a hoopla over these. hopefully they're all as good as the one in the pics above!

Finally in stock at MF. Now if the Epi Pro's can get it:D

After seeing NIN for the 4th time since the Fall and hearing Justin Mendel-Johnsen have an absolutly killer FOH tone playing his T-Birds for a good amount of the set and now finding out that all the pi Silverbursts will a) be "chromed-out", and b) be made of Mahogany as opposed of Alder, I'm really close to ordering one, especially at $299 when I've heard excellent things about the Epi-birds at that price-point. Then again, the T-bird PROs are much more "my" style as a bassist (modern hardware, active electronics) and are supposed to be as good a deal at their pricepoint, I'm so torn... :rollno:

Quick first impressions...

I hate the neck. It's painted black and then there's some awful finish on it. I planned on making a Fenderbird anyway, so this is no biggie.

The pickups seem pretty strong. I've never owned a Tbird, so I can't really say how they compare. Quiet, though.

The neck dive isn't that bad, I'll mess around with putting the straplock on the neckplate, just for fun, but I think it'll end up being in a new hole by the neck plate parallel to the neck, if you know what I mean.

I like it! It's a keeper... for now.

I won't get to play it through my SVT/Berg NV until next thursday. Sounds good through my B 15 S and my little Epi Valve Jr/ Lopoline bass cab.

problem is,that i don't think the pros will be out for a while...still.they are somehow hoping to release them this month, and yet they don't even have them on their production schedule as far as i've heard.so who knows when they are even going to come out.could be in a few weeks or 6 months.
no one has any idea.people are saying that it is going to be a
"hoax" bass.

Well, it's here.

Sorry for the crappy pic, the girlfriend is sleeping and it's 5:30 in the morning.

told you my friend. and i'm not an expert,i just don't see why some one would think a store would replace their new chrome pickups with old plastic ones
