I bought a Silvertone Revolver bass (knock-off P-Bass) approximately a year ago, and a few months ago I felt like changing the pickups, and doing a few aesthetic modifications.
I took it apart, I found that the volume pot is bad, and now have to replace it, but it is too soldered over to see if it is a 250k, or 500k, et cetera, et cetera pot. Do most, or all, P-basses have the same types of electronics? Right now, the pickups are wired directly to the input jack right now, so there is no tone, or volume control. We don't know exactly what volume pot to buy, so it's stuck this way for right now.
I have already tried contacting Silvertone twice, and I still haven't gotten a response.
Any help as to finding out what pot should be a sufficient replacement would be greatly appreciated.
(yes, I do only have three stings for right now; and yes, I am going to touch up the pickguard later on)
