But when your next band wants to play metal, then what 'cha gonna do? Honestly, if you played a dozen different models in the $1,500+ price range you'd probably have GAS for all of them.

Well, this thread will cause a $#!+ storm for sure. Some people just can't accept that their $300 bass isn't as good or better than a $1,300 bass.

I've played a lot of Squiers and MIMs over the years. They are nice basses, but for the most part not in the same class as the MIAs.

I haven't said one base is better than the other.

I think hearing someone say "I've found the perfect ______ and I'll never buy or want anything else as long as I live" is about like a minister telling his flock "I've found the perfect church and I'll never never never leave you . . . I will retire from this church in 40 years." I have heard both.

I still have GAS and always will.........it doesn't mean I don't like what I have.......nor does it mean that buying something has any logic.

Wow, reading through this thread as a new player makes me fell that folks here honestly don't believe that there could be one bass to rule them all for a person to play...that to me is just ridiculous. It comes down to what each individual likes to play, how said instrument fits in with said persons musical tastes, and if it just works for them...there's no written law that a player needs 100 different basses to be a satisfied player, none, period. The only thing that's a certainty is that everyone is different and everyone will have their own idea of what's the best---for them. There's no right or wrong here, it's a personal choice from beginning to end, price be damned. I say enjoy your new found perfect bass, no matter what others have to say about it. It's simply not important.
