Rewired with the original components and it is working and sounding back to its "former glory" lol! Honestly not sure why I ripped it all out all those years ago. I think there may have just been some loose wiring and I had no idea what I was doing with circuits at that point so I just bypassed the tweeter. Sounds pretty decent now with my Micro VR head. At least decent considering the incredibly small amount of money I spent for the whole setup. Thanks again everyone for your help and advice. Learned a lot on this thread!
