I believe Canseco was hypnotized and thought he was a chicken.

Ozzie Smith got trapped in another dimension while visiting some Mystery Spot like tourist trap. Mike Mike Scioscia got radiation poisoning working at the plant, Mattingly kept being told by Burns to cut his sideburns (a reference to Steinbrenner) and finally quit, Boggs is knocked out by Barney and Darryl Strawberry played in the game - taking Homer's spot. I'm missing a player or two but I think that's right.

Name the girl that Milhouse falls in love with that almost ruins his friendship with Bart. (She is sent to an all-girls school at the end of the episode).

BTW, how many of you are like me where you loved the show and watched every episode but haven't seen a new Simpsons in over a year?

I loved the show and watched just about every episode multiple times, but I really don't like the writing and the 'humour' of the last 2 or 3 seasons. I tried to like it, but the clever, witty parody and social/political commentary has been replaced with jokes and commentary so obvious and bland that you can quite easily predict what's going to happen or be said. It's almost like they assume their audience has dropped 30 IQ points over the last few seasons and have tailored the show accordingly.

It's a bit sad, I think. IMO the things that made the Simpsons so successful and enjoyable have disappeared.

I haven't seen any new ones in about 4 or 5 years, since we started having band practice sunday nights, but those that I have caught have really underwhelmed me. I'm a huge fan, and I have the first six or seven seasons on DVD (I think I got up to maggie or marge in the face-shaped boxes) but they've really fallen off my map lately.

I attribute it to the rise of family guy. Family guy isn't entirely dumbed down, but in the competition for the most laughs packed into 22 minutes, they writers for both shows go for the lowest common denominator.
