Simpsons trivia

Ok, so I didn't read all 25 pages so don't know if this was mentioned. I can't recall what episode it's from, probably ~10 years ago or so.
I used to tape all the Simpsons so I could pause the tape to see all the hidden little things planted in the show. They once flashed a bunch of items on the Simpsons TV for something or other, and it went so fast that you couldn't read it in real time...you HAD to pause it. One of the things said something like v-8 is 1/4 gasoline, and another thing said "if you are reading this you have no life". It was awesome. I don't know how much longer I taped the shows after that...:D

Sadly, I think I know where the second one is from. I believe it was the episode where homer is accused of sexual harassment when he peels the "Gummy Venus de Milo" off the babysitter's backside. At the end of the episode Kent Brockman shows a list of mistakes his channel has made over the years.

We used to tape the Simpsons reruns in college because my roomate and I both got home late from the lab so we paused it to read and saw that line. It was funny and humiliating at the same time.

Yep, that's the one! Now I gotta go search out that full list...:o :p

I'll admit to pausing the DVD and skipping through to read the lists. I suppose not as geeky as taping it, but still.

here's a thought: bands named after the Simpsons. I've got:

Fallout Boy
Noiseland Arcade (Adam from Tool's side band)
...err i can't think of any more. anyone?

EDIT not part of the list but stoner band John Holmes have a song called 'Pray For Mojo' :D

Years ago, before I'd heard any of their music, I read an article about Fallout Boy. I only started reading it because I thought that any band that took their name from a Simpsons reference couldn't be all bad. But the article stated that they didn't even get the reference. It was a suggestion yelled by someone in the crowd when they were looking for a new name. :rollno:

In college I suggested "Furious George" as a band name for a ska-punk outfit I joined. It narrowly lost out to "Ludicrous Speed", though I'm sure some other band has appropriated it by now.
