Single cab choice: Genzler 210-3, F112.

Hi TB, I have a little hard time deciding on buying a new cab.

At the moment I use 410 placed on the floor and all it makes is a big noise on the stage. I always play with PA support so need a small cab that will provide good bass monitoring for me, the guitar player and partly for our drummer.
I would put it on myInvalid Link Removed so I can hear it well w/out cranking it too much. I would put my GK 1001RB and a pedal board on the top of the rig.

Despite that, I don't wanna go with classic single 112 or 210, because there may be situations when I need a little more juice and I'm pretty sure no classic cab can handle it no matter how high end they are.

My band is plays at moderate stage volumes, we play modern pop, pop-rock, funk, and with 5 string bass it's good to have a little more power.

So, I narrowed my choice to the two cabs from the title.

Genzler may be be exactly what I want but not sure if it's comparable to a Fearless F112 in power handling and loudness. Also I read it is somewhat weaker in bass. I need a balanced sound, don't wanna boomy thing but if it's all in the midds especially higs mids, that's just not for me. Heavy EQing of the box is not my thing, I pretty much keep everything flat.

F112 - have to wait almost two months for the build, will be tricky for stacking my amp on the top of it, I would have to place it on the side.

Unfortunately I don't have a chance to test any of these so need a little of help from you

Why on the side? Are you using it in Wedge configuration?
I love my F112, but have no experience with Genzler cabs. I do have experience with their amps though.

wow, that's nice rig!

well, F112 is wedged so I'm concerned if it will be stable when I place it on the K&M stand and add my GK amp + hard case with my pedals on the top of everything.

ps, sorry, there was a mistake in the title, Genzler I look at is 210-3, not 10-2

They are both great cabs but different.

I wouldn’t describe the Genzler as being weak in the bass. It is punchy down there though. It sits very nicely in a mix.

I’m obviously partial to Genzler gear as per my signature, but from what you’re describing, the BA210-3 does seem to be a good match. The array does make dispersion better and the rest of the folk on stage will hear exactly what the audience is hearing. You will need to use the stand as it is not a tall cabinet and doesn’t work the same if placed on its side. Getting it up off the floor really helps IMHO. I can’t imagine it has less power handling capability that the F112 nor would it be less efficient. I expect the F112 would be flatter and more neutral in sound...

Actually I can have Genzler for a 30 days trial period and send it back, but I'm so tempted to f112. This will be a hard pick. Unfortunately still no answer from a fearleas builder i contacted

As for stand, I realized that most cabs just don't work on the ground. Lifting is the key of havin a good sound on the stage eapecially indoors, that's why I gave up on big cabs. I owned all kind of great cabs, but with large PA subs next to me they were just contributing to noise on the stage.
