Single coil in humbucker slot? My first thread actually.

Hello everyone!
I have edwards e-lb-85 with two EMG HB PUs. It is a les paul type bass. I want to replace one to single coil, but i don't know what pickup will fit humbucker slot.:hmm:
Can anybody advice me something?
What do you think about it? Maybe it's not a really good idea?
:help:

I managed to forget what EMG-HBs are despite having them in my Hohner headless.

In theory, if a single-coil was mandatory, one of those GFS P-90-in-a-humbucker pickups might do the trick. Yes, they're guitar pickups, but they'd likely do nicely, and as far as pickups go, GFS is dirt cheap.

Bartolini make some single coils in HB housings. I make single coil sounding Sidewinders in HB housings.

Then you can get adaptor rings to put single coil start sized pickup in humbucker equipped guitars. You would just need to find a single coil that works well for bass that would fit.
