my Music Man Sterling 4 is a single cut, I would imagine some of the 5's are as well

tom clement maybe?
Wow, he's got some nice looking stuff. Any idea what his build times are like?
I was looking for an inexpensive singlecut 5'er a few years ago. I was looking at a few luthiers who had stuff similar to what I was after. I picked the least expensive and got burned.
If I had to do it over, I would have done a lot more research before handing over any money. I strongly recommend contacting people who have bought and own basses from whoever you decide to go with. Had I taken the time to do it myself, I would have ended up going with Tom Clement. Read through the Clement Club threads. If you like the way he makes his basses you'll be getting a very high quality instrument at a very reasonable price.
