I think this is what these kind of basses are called. The basses I'm talking about, the top horn is big and fat and comes quite far down the neck. I was just wondering what companies make these basses and which you could recommened for under £1000, 5/6 string fretless. Thanks

Hey Fishbrain,
Check out Shuker Guitars in Sheffield.
I got a custom made 6er from them about 6 months ago and I'm over the moon with it!

It was a wee bit over £1000, but I suppose simplifying the options down a bit might make it a little cheaper.

Also, check out Alan at www.acguitars.co.uk up here in Scotland, he does a couple of single-cut shapes too, his basses are top notch and he's got some great stuff going on with his pickups and pre-amp, plus he's a really sound guy.

He specializes in Fretlesses and his prices are VERY reasonable. He's currently building one for me, and it looks great so far!
