Single space rack??

Not sure this is the right place, but it seemed closest.

I'm trying to find a rack case for a single-space preamp. It is a tube pre, so a *little* extra room for ventilation would be good, but a 12AX7 doesn't require a lot.

SKB doesn't list anything. Anyone know of something?

I can't suggest anything specific, but I would say that going 2 or 3 space will give you options to add a tuner, power regulator, etc later. I imagine there are a lot more 2/3 space racks to choose from as well. In fact I don't recall ever seeing a 1-space, & I'm a huge window-shopper. OTOH, I've seen rack rails for sale; if you have basic woodworking skills you could whip up a custom 1-spacer.

I went shopping for a 1U for my company a couple of years ago. The weight is practically the same. The cost is identical to any other custom/rare case (you pay more). The difference in height between that and a 2U is .....1u (obviously), but If you measure a 2U and take 1 3/4 inches off that, its still big.

They don't list 1 or 2 space but they will make you one if you give them a call. They're build solid. I'd recommend at least a 2 space and put a blank plate in just in case you add to it.

Yeah, just get a 2 space. It's easier and having that extra space may come in handy down the road.
