Speaking of prices, anyone notice all the prices for Sires have went up!?!? On some of them V, M and the P8/10 series...good god.I thought the prices before were a good value, now not as much. I know everything everywhere is going up, but wow.

Prices have definitely been climbing. Inventory that got rushed into the US before new taxes hit is running out, and I've noticed the increases across a lot of music gear I've been tracking. Items I tracked on my Sweetwater/Amazon/GC wishlists have all gone up lately: the Boss LS-2 was $106 back in February and it's $121 now. The Fender Paranormal Esquire Deluxe went from $320 to $473. Yamaha BB basses are all higher too: +$40 on the 234, +$60 on the 434, and +$80 on the 734, and the John Patitucci model jumped by $400. Even little things like my Etymotic earplugs went from $14 to $22. It adds up fast.

I was just noticing that today when browsing basses. Sign of the times, I guess.
At least Thomann in Germany has not raised prices for their Sire models, and several are cheaper than before.
However, the New Gen guitars (say, L7/S7/T7) are quite more expensive compared to the original models (partly round 150 € more than before), which has left my wondering since they have been announced some months ago. Guitar players must have more money...

Sweetwater raised prices on gear that they have had in stock. I could see it on new stock but old stock. Come on now!
For used items price increases are driven by higher demand as buyer seek alternatives to costlier new products, which pushes prices up for secondhand gear. As for 'new old stock' consider if Sweetwater had one new V5 in stock at pre-tax prices and twelve new instruments coming in at higher import tax prices: they're not going to sell that one bass for less, the prices will be the same price for all of them. Price increases of 'new old stock' in cases like this also typically factor in the higher replacement costs they face for restocking; that casuses upward pressure on pricing of that stock to maintain profits in a business with razor-thin margins. (We also see this with inflation and supply chain interruptions.)

What I have noticed is that there are very, very few second hand Sires around, both here in Portugal and in UK
I like to think that that is just because no one wants to sell them
I will be happy if prices soar exponentially as then I wont buy any more

Then you might also check Dame Guitars, the original brand by Sire's founder... Several of their instruments are similar to Sire models... I guess they only sell regionally. (Of course, the brand names are similar, too... )
I just hope Sire comes out with a P3 or 4 now to have a sub $500 new pbass again in the US. Otherwise I will be recommending Squier 60s and 70s classic vibes for students strictly on price. They are decent but the Sire necks are just outstanding in comparison.

Yamaha BB234 probably has better build and tighter quality control. Price was $320, last month saw an increase everywhere to $360. (But the Yamaha TRBX174 hasn't yet changed from its $250 price-point.)
Yeah. Yamaha is great quality.

I'd love to see a passive P3 to match the V3P, preferably with the same bold color choices. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
