It's been at least 20 years since I went to a NAMM show as a music store buyer, but since (at least then) NAMM was for Music MERCHANDISERS, i.e, retailers, I don't know why Sire would have a NAMM booth. Maybe it's more of a public show thing now? They certainly aren't trying to find retailers for their product, the main aim of NAMM booths.
True. I used to go frequently but you have a great point. My question wasn't thought out at all.
Well, true, though there certainly are a lot of big name pro players there, too, might make sense to try to get some attention - but it's not like they really need it they way they're running - seems to me they're growing just about as fast as they can already.
True - although I have at least one [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] that states Sire was at the 2015 NAAM show, but it's unclear to me if they actually had a booth like a standard "Seller" would. Perhaps they were not specifically looking for retail outlets (not their modus operandi) but perhaps to meet with potential reviewers in the industry if nothing else. Been to a NAAM show myself about 20yrs ago or more, so it was a bit odd hearing the news that Sire was there - at first glance. Because as Plutonium stated, usually the main aim is to find retailers, but I often forget that there are also tons of music biz connections, the chance of attracting potential product endorsers, etc., from a Seller's side of things. Because basically just about anyone & everyone in the music biz is going to be there - great resource to make connections. It will be interesting though if they will have an actual Exhibitors booth on the NAAM convention floor - I don't know all the details about how that works, especially given Sire's business model of no middle man retailers.

They introduced Sire at NAMM 2015, they will be there 2016 and I am guessing they will intro the M7 line and whatever else they may surprise us with. P?

Its the connections and buzz is why they go. If your in the biz you need to be there if you want to be taken serious. My $.02
Plus MM could be there and we could soon see another video of him slapping a V7 with his Dunlop strings. Speaking of his Dunlop strings, it would be great if these V7s came with those strings. seems like changing them is pretty much the first thing people do.

They added the red and '75 RI basses at the very end of December, right before Christmas.
After putting this bass through rehearsal tonight, I'm thinking you could purchase a 5 string V7 ash fretless w/ the polyester finished fingerboard and cover the same sonic territory for a whole lot le$$! The Pedulla's mojo is in it's growly mids. That's gotta be readily available in this V7 pre-amp. The Pedulla is mighty special though.
Do you prefer this V7 pre-amp over the Fender MM's as much as I do? The vari-mid is icing on the cake!
I went ahead and changed the XL's out w/ a set of Miller's Dunlop Super Brights before I dialed in the intonation. The bass was a hit @ rehearsal tonight. Everyone was complimenting it's looks & tone.
V7 vs Fender MM pre amps
I think Marcus used Fender to learn about preamps via useing I think bartalonis. At Sire he mastered the preamp. I bet he line them all up and said I want this tone from fender, this tone from xyz and down the line.
Sire said ok and made it happen

In interviews I've heard & read here of late, Marcus has made mention of the importance of Mids. He talked about that concerning the design of his new signature strings. He said he was going after a tone more like like he had years ago. Heavily scooped mids don't always work. I love having more control over the mid frequencies. Thank you, Marcus!☺

Don't have mine yet but it's highly possible that I'll try to de gloss the neck and modify it for BEAD tuning.
