Been there ... I wish it would have been that easy, I also tried adjusting the notation screw as was suggested on here, really strange that with even with the pressure of the through body string it just floats 5 + MM above the finger board .. .does not make sense.
I would but both defective Sire M3's were shipped back yesterday ... I sure hope they don't send them back out to another poor chap like they did to me. All they had to do was install one of the original Steel Bridges, I did not care about the hardware matching I just wanted a working bass - yes the tuners were horrible but they did work.
wait - so Sire sent you a much more valuable instrument, to make up for your frustration and public 'airing of concerns' over your M3- going outside of their return policy - and you are going to immediately sell it upon reception?
I said I was out of this thread awhile ago, but this is pretty silly. You complained here, asked Sire to fix it, they bent over backwards twice when they didn't have to. Then you receive a beautiful more valuable replacement and immediately turn around and sell it.
With shenanigans like this it's no wonder prices are going up and companies are hesitant to work with customers with real problems.
If they would have sent me an operational M3 that was under 9lbs I would have gladly kept it, that is what I ordered, I did not order the P7 that was their solution to make up for nearly 6 weeks of trouble trying to get me a working M3.
I refused a refund by choice because I did not trust the seller as I found several folks that never got their refund after returning the bass. (turns out not trusting was a good choice, read below)
After I pay fees and get rid of this P7 I will still be out some cash and a lot of time and frustration, all the while being on the most aggressive Chemo available. Yes I could have just sought the refund, but I chose not to take that chance.
I am just a sick bass player who was trying to find a light weight bass and thought Sire could put something in my hands similar to the M3's I have seen here on TB and on YouTube with Sire Fans singing praises - unfortunately they downgraded hardware and then quickly discontinued the line. More research resulted in several cases of faulty electronics and hardware, with a very limited warranty and no parts available I began losing faith in the current produced models.
While waiting (UPS was delayed on top of everything else) I found a lightweight RW Jazz that I have fell in love with.
According to the moral compass of folks posting I guess I was supposed to wait indefinitely and then just be happy with the P7 because it cost a whopping $50 more???? Sorry but we must not be on the same planet, to suggest this lacks class makes me question what kind of class you are referring to?
Apparently it was Classy for Sire Director Mickey Cho to lie to me in writing and promise that the last M3 was inspected and had no issues?
I think not and I believe that them upgrading me to the Sire P7 after lying to me was an effort of apology that I accepted.

I do not regret the way I conducted myself, I even just asked for an old M3 bridge or a new M2 bridge to be installed even though it would not match the rest of the hardware. IMHO that would have been me taking the hit and doing them a solid, and I would have an M3 hanging here had they offered the functional bridge to be installed on an M3 for me.
Maybe be careful before you start pointing fingers, it seems vision is blurred by Sire Loyalty.
I previously chose NOT to publish the written lies that I called them out on, I thought it was me taking a higher ground and just accept the apologetic P7 and move on ..... but ... Ya'all wanted to defend Sire without any regard for the facts.
Pretty low for Mickey to be wishing me well while I am in the hospital and making promises not kept and then out right lying about inspecting the bass after several back and forth emails from me begging for the bridge and weight to be verified.

I told sire I did not want to keep either of the two M3's stating that I could not sell them in good conscious even with disclosure of the known issues. I believe the change in hardware went sideways, I do not think it was a coincidence that both M3's Bridges were faulty. BEWARE anyone buying a 2018 built Sire M3, check your bridge! I sent both defective M3's back on the same day.
Yes Sire knew I would rather sell a working sire model then wait for a refund from Pitbull, they also knew if they could not provide something under 9lbs that I would sell it provided it was functional and in Brand New Condition.
Had I not found the Road Worn and if the P7 was a bit lighter I would have to keep it, she is a beauty and upon inspection appeared perfect and not heavy just not as light as my 8.4 LB RW.
I already have three basses I do not play. Hopefully this P7 will make someone very happy, the reviews on the P7 seem positive and the hardware seems similar to the V3 so I feel ok listing it.
I'm starting to get worried, I have an M5 from Pitbull that should be here in a couple of days... maybe I should look at Sweetwater's 55 point inspection list and use it to go over the bass...?
I bought it on Reverb and it's supposed to be brand new... does anybody have experience dealing with Reverb if there are any problems?
