Sire V7 v. Bass Mods K534

I know there is probably a discussion on this already but I'm not able to find it. I really need to get a new bass soon and was hoping someone who has played either (or both) of these could give a little insight since I'm not able to try out either one. I will have the cash soon for the Sire but was wondering if it was worth it to keep saving and pay double for the K534.

I'm a big Sire fan, I make no secret about that, great bang for the buck, but wow, that's some tough competition. I've never played a Bass Mods bass, but from the things I've read, they're very nice and well respected. Would be an interesting comparison for sure. I love my Sires is all I can say.

For sure.. I'm just wondering if that extra money is worth whatever difference there is.

i went with a vintage g&l jazz variant, because the mij marco i found was not the color i wanted and i didn't want to pay for shipping the bacchus to the usa

There are a lot of top cats playing the Sire basses. Here's an older vid of Andre Berry playing one. I have had mine for 2 years now and it's been a great bass.....especially for $500. Bass Mods definitely have more colors and electronics packages but if you're on a budget the Sire gets it done.

You left out the MTD Kingston bass. Hands down get a used Kingston Heir or Z or ZX. The neck is worth it's weight in gold. You need to add an Adere preamp. This will give you all new controls. The Heir has an ash body I do believe. Get a Hipshot 18.5 or 19mm bridge. You have to watch what case you put it in because the headstock could use a little less tilt. I would look for a used Heir 5 string and do these mods. That would make a good instrument into a fine instrument. BassMods sound very good this has to do with their preamp and they have good build quality.

I do want a BassMods bass but I don't like the Jazz body because it does not sit well in a stand. Right now I have two BassMods roasted maple necks and my luthiers going to Mary them to my two Warmoth bodies. The bodies are a roasted ash G5 and an alder P bass 5 deluxe. The G5 gets an Audere preamp, Bartolini pups, and a Babicz bridge. The heel on the BassMods neck is wider than a Fender deluxe so it won't drop into a Warmoth body.
