I did a search and while there is some info out there it's very sporadic and fairly old. I may have the opportunity to endorse this company and I was wondering what any current users have to say about them, specifically any of their roundwound sets. One of my favorite players Robert DeLeo from STP has used the Power Wound nickels for years. I know that in and of itself is no reason to think these are great strings but I was curious as to other's experiences with SIT. They seem to be a very small company based out of Akron, Ohio and I don't see the usual big names that you see with other brands on their endorsement page but who knows, maybe they are quite good.

I've used the power wound 5 string set the past couple changes on my modulus. I love them, they keep their zing for a long time and it's hard to argue with the price point.
They are very nice strings. They OEM for a lot of instrument companies as well. They are great guys I have been working with them for years.
I've never tried their strings, I know Jack Bruce used them for many years. Congratulations on your endorsement deal!!
Not a done deal yet but I am being considered. Also, if I don't like the strings I will not endorse them whether they are reduced price/free/ or whatever. They just seem to have a fairly simple endorsement program for regular working musicians like myself.

One of the few places I can get a 35-90 set (albeit as singles), they have good tone and decent life. Probably my #2 SS roundwound string. What's not to like?

I just recently tried a set on my dual course 8 string acoustic.
I've only had them on for a few days, but so far, they seem a good value for the money. They have a nice, bright tone, similar to Rotosounds. If you'd like to hear them, I did a sound clip.

DR Hi-Beams. I need to try a 35-90 Hi-Beam set, but with SIT being about half the cost I am not tempted to do that this instant. SIT has excellent life with my fingers and a bit more mids than the Hi-Beams.

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
I had Powerwounds on my Japanese ESP, stock, and they were fantastic strings...flexible (awesome for bending), lasted a while, minimal buzz, and piano-like tone.
Interesting. Yeah, I've used Hi Beams in the past and they are certainly unique feeling and sounding. I always thought that compared to some other steels that they were pretty mid shy though. Sounds like the Power Steels are more voiced like Rotosound Steels in the mids department.
To my ears the mids are not quite like Rotos but the life of the Power Steels are much better, hence why I go with those.
If I had an offer of an endorsement deal with SIT, I wouldn't hesitate. Try them out though (it seems you may be headed that way anyway).
I've never used their bass strings, but they are all I use on my steel guitars. I think they're solid strings despite the silly name. They sound great, last pretty long, and are fairly priced.
Endorsement came through today. I get the reduced rate endorsement which is still very good. I have to order a minimum of 6 sets. Probably leaning towards Power Wound Nickels to start.
Never tried them, but... there's a persistent rumor in Rickista circles that SIT is one of the companies that makes Rickenbacker's strings. If that is the case, and if they made the ones that are currently on my 4003? Then, yes they are very nice strings...
I have used their power wound nickels and currently have a set on my Peavey Foundation, which is a good combination. I have also used them on an 8 string bass I once owned. The only other set I have used are the Silencers. I found them to be okay, but prefer the GHS Pressure Wounds to be more my liking for compressed wounds. They are really good strings and the prices are right.
I'd never heard of them until 10 yrs ago. I bought a bass of here. ..sent to me here in Australia. .. and after liking the strings that cane on it, I asked the seller what they were. SIT powerwounds.
Then, as luck would have it, not long after, again in the TB classifieds, someone was selling 5 packs of new ones the same. I grabbed em and have been a fan ever since.
