Six string SX Jazz?

Local GC has this thing used for $129.99.. how good are these things? I've been looking for a 5er but a 6er at this price is pretty convincing! Should I consider?

There have been many posts on the SX 6-stringers. Since TB searches for +3 characters, you should easily find them if you search "Essex" instead of SX.

Also, I believe I may have seen a TB'er list a decent modified one in the TB Classifieds recently.

Sometimes, when I look through www.rondomusic.com sometimes I get the urge to pick up a low cost SX (or Douglas / Brice for that matter), for the purpose of learning how to install a bass tremolo system. I would hate to mistakenly ruin an expensive bass in case something goes wrong.

I'd check the new prices on Rondo. Unless that bass had pickup or hardware upgrades you might be able to get a new one for not too much more $.

That's not far from the new price.
Fun basses & yes worth it. I use a wide strap I don't have a neck dive problem.

I like it a lot. B is fine. I play with a regular/gentle touch, & chords. You can slap but not as easily as a 4. I'm replacing bridge & strings possibly tonight. Strings--switching to GHS flatwounds; bridge--I have to switch because the stock bridge won't fit the new B string.

yeah reminds me of hipshot A-style but obviously it'snot quite the same. I've had them before on other basses so I'll give it a shot.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am an SX fanboy rondo too. I have never played an American Fender 6er string J. But my SX lets me do what I wanna do, so I say Why pay more?
