Skateboarding

i did the same a while back, not too popular of a thread. do you mean skateboarding as opposed to longboarding? they're kind of inseparable, IMO

i bought my first longboard about two years ago, really more on a whim than anything...i had never ridden one before and have never liked popsicle decks. i've been gradually losing interest in the whole freeriding thing, and recently got an LDP setup. feels good, man.

I'm down with longboarding, I haven't been out in months for the reasons of the birth of my daughter.
I do miss it, however I do have new priorities.
I own a Landy Evo with Randal DH's and a Comet Pagan with Hybrid Indy's. I suppose I'll return to it someday, when the itching gets too unbearable.

I used to be really into it, was sponsored for a bit in high school by a local shop. After I blew out my knee, I just didn't have the balls to go big anymore and lost most of my tricks. I was still hanging around and skateboarding, I just wasn't good anymore. Then for a while I was running a camera for a friend that was doing lots of skateboard films. Around that same time I was running a skateboard coop, mainly with decks. I had found a factory hookup and was getting pro decks for $5 a piece plus grip. In one summer I think I sold around 100. I was selling them for break even out of my trunk.

At this time I was also in charge of keeping the local skatepark in good condition. I worked closely with the parks and rec in town and they loved that what I did. I love skateboarding and the culture, but I just don't have time these days with school and my girlfriend. Times change and people move on, but it still holds a place near to my heart.

I miss the good old days, I still have every deck I ever owned which I need to put up on the wall.

I haven;t been on a board in years.
Every now and then I'll get out the aggressive skates and give myself a beating.

I also started a skating thread, but it died off pretty quickly.

Boneless!

i picked up skating a couple months ago because everyone in my band does.

i was a bmx guy. and then my trails were destroyed by a flood. then i was an aggressive inline guy. outgrew my skates. picked up guitar. sold my bikes for guitars. played so much guitar that it lead me to guys that skate.

im absolutely dreadful. but my singer is about to be pissed when i catch a varial kickflip before i catch a regular one. they always seem to flip that way. damned back foot.

he, like iamlowsound, was on his way to great success in the sport until he destroyed his knee. exploded meniscus disc. now he has a bunch of screws holding it together. he got back into it recently, but hes a little too gunshy to throw himself down anything he sees. doesnt stop him from throwing double flips and catching the occasional sweet gap.
