Cavity for the ramp and pickups now done all the holes drilled and the control cavity cover done. This one is now ready to start the finishing.

I cant remember if you said, do you use a router with a radius bit to carve the heel transition on your singlecuts?

No I do them by hand but you could certainly do them with that kind of bit. I rough the heel in with an angle grinder then from there on in it is by hand with some scrapers and shaped sanding blacks.

I know it depends on the choice of woods and that but what's the average weight of a bass of this model when it's completed?
Most of my single cut basses come in round 9/10 lbs. The last Skelf was heavier but it was made from ebony and wenge not a light weight combo. I will weigh the bas tomorrow and get you a rough idea.

any news on the weight?
will you be using the 1/2" galvanized or stainless carriage bolts to reinforce the necque?

Sorry I completely forgot about this. I will have it done by this afternoon.
I am going against tradition and getting some custom cast iron bolts to try on this one with my patented wing nut attachment system at the 12th fret.

At the moment the bass weighs just under 3Kg which is about 6.5 lbs. With the hardware weighing approx 1Kg/2.2lbs I would think the bass would be round the 4Kg/9lbs roughly.
