It's so fun. Cheap to get into, you can get into it for $20 + $1 worth of wax. It's so satisfying with you're aimed right at a wave and you hit it and pop up and over it. Delicious.

My friends have woodies (haha, but the joke's getting old for me now) but I have a plastic one. Get a plastic one if possible, it's lighter and faster. Also, woodies wear down over time and I'm refinishing my friend's so it'll last another summer.

Anyone skimboard/looking into skimboarding?

I won my age group at a Pro-Am in Panama City, FL. when I was 16. I've still got my collection of boards in the garage, but they're getting old and not in the best shape any more. Fortunately, my main Vic is still as good as new, though!

You guys just really, really made me miss livin Sarasota Florida.

I used to skimboard every other weekend it seemed. There's nothing like hittin a wave hard, flipping 6 feet in the air, and then crashin down in 2ft of water!

My Son is pretty good at it. He's also busted his ass a few times doing it. We have field nearby where they all gather after a rainstorm, it has several BIG shallow puddles that work great. He prefers the surf though.
