Skip Battin

I think I owned that same shirt!

I got turned on to Skip after reading Bud Scoppa's book when I was 10 or 11 years old...something about Bud's description made me gravitate towards the Gene Parsons/Clarence White/Skip Batten incarnation so Untitled was the first Byrds album I bought. There's a side-long rendition of "Eight Miles High" on that album that may be the same as the OP's video...or maybe not, but same general idea: psychedelic jamming.

I actually preferred Skip's sole composition credit on the studio half of that double LP, "Well Come Back Home" especially when it gets to the Buddhist chanting around the 4 minute mark
